The premise behind the lock is sound. However, as a professional locksmith I can tell you where the problems are. The motor that drives the bolt is a major problem. If the door/fram is not perfect, it will burn out the motor. Then you are in real trouble, worse than being locked out.

On this one, I think you're missing the mark as far as where the concern/controversy lies.
I dont believe the average American is concerned with keeling over if they take the shot.
They're more worried about the potential long-term after-effects with their child, that have not yet been thoroughly vetted.
What kind of things might happen with my child 15 years down the road?
Its this potential future "time-bomb" vs. the immediate potential effects of not taking the vaccine, ie sickness, death.
I don't think there's enough evidence to back either argument at this point.
Some have had the Swine flu and came out just fine. While many take vaccines and turn out fine in the long run as well.
It's a personal choice, and a somewhat difficult one at that.
