Good Info, but beware
I have always paid at the pump with my debit. I have seen what Clark is talking about.
I would venture to say its worse to use your piece of trash Real visa. Not only are you using a credit card to pay for consumables (which should be a taboo) you are getting charged extra to do it. This is a slippery slope!

Why must you personalize it? "but he doesn't need to denigrate people" He's not denigrating anyone. He's talking about the pros and cons of using a debit card so we are fully informed to avoid mistakes. Furthermore, debit cards are not subject to the law FCRA Fair Credit Reporting Act. Use at your own risk! Your bank may implement a policy to imitate the FCRA but don't be fooled. A policy is not law and the bank can revoke the policy whenever they want and leave you out to hang.

that is very old news. about debit cards. if you own one you already know about them putting a hold on them only if you use it as a debit . If you use it as credit card at pump not only is there not a hold on your account. And if it is a aWachovia account you get to add a doller to your way to save account for every purchase. Cool huh!

I take exception to my debit card being described that way. My debit card allows me to tell the credit card companies to KISS OFF. I appreciate the information Clark is giving me about what can happen at the pump (although I've never had it happen before) but he doesn't need to denigrate people who don't want to use credit for whatever reason.
Debit cards at the Gas Pump
That's very interesting. At some gas stations, you can go in and buy a gas card and use it until it's gone. Sometimes you even get a little discount on the price. That's a sneaky practice.
