Nov 12, 2008 -- Google to make out-of-print books available electronically

Looking for an out-of-print book? Google has struck a deal with the big publishing houses to release e-versions of hard-to-get titles. No more scouring used book stores and collector's shops!

Google apparently has a team of people scanning out-of-print books into a database page by page. There is some speculation that the tech giant may launch this service as an ad-supported model -- where you can read what you want for free.

Clark admits he was off-base when he scoffed at Kindle -- the electronic book reader from Amazon. Now he's eating his words; he wasn't able to see the bigger picture that the folks at Google could.

Unfortunately, Clark won't be able to answer any questions submitted via commenting. If you have a question, please try posting it to our message boards.
