4G technology -- that's "fourth generation" in industry lingo -- is almost upon us. Sprint is among the leaders in this arena, with their
3G/4G USB Modem U300.
Sprint's 3G/4G modem is essentially an aircard that allows laptop users to wirelessly connect to the Internet. You're able to surf at the faster 4G speeds when you're in a city that has been built out to support the new technology. When you're not, you surf at 3G speeds.
There's no switching necessary on your part; the modem automatically senses 4G where it's available and picks it up.
So far Baltimore is one of the few 4G-equipped cities, but expect to see more cities added throughout 2009. Clark believes this could be great for business travelers during the coming year.
