Sep 22, 2008 -- Second-hand stores are all the rage
Being out of style -- like Clark -- is in style again! Shopping at second hand stores is gaining in popularity. The goods they have are of a higher quality than just a few years ago -- thanks to the waning fortunes of some who were living high on the hog and now have unloaded their wardrobes.
The Los Angeles Times now reports that 80% of second-hand stores are experiencing a jump in traffic over the last 12 months. Meanwhile, people are even buying used wedding dresses on eBay, according to the report. One woman bought hers for $20 on eBay!
To those who turn their noses up at wearing used clothes, you've got to realize the clothes are laundered. And did you ever stay at a hotel? That bed has been used by strangers night after night. The sheets are fresh, of course, but you're sleeping in the same bed.
So don't be afraid of used clothes. Our senior producer Kim buys 60% of her clothes used and only pays single-digit prices.

Good 2nd hand stores for men's clothing?
?
Consignment
I take my clothes to several local consignment shops. One is very picky and the items they turn away I take to another shop! The clothes they don't sell you have the option to take back or they will donate them. Depending on how many items I consigned I can make alot or very little money. But it is better than selling them really cheap if I want to hassle with a garage sale.
Second Hand Clothes
I have lots of clothes that I need to sell. What would be the best way to sell them.
Unclaimed Baggage
Don't forget your favorite store in Alabama. A great place to pick up good bargains.
If Shopping is Your Hobby
Sometimes when I'm bored I tend to jump in the car & go shopping. Thrift stores are terrific places to find bargains & satisfy that shopping crave. Turn shopping into an adventure - just be sure you "need" what you buy.
Second Hand Stores and saving $$$ other ways
My lifestyle required some changes a couple of years ago when my husband changed jobs and we relocated. I checked out our local vocational college and now get great prices on massages, manicures and hair care, including color and cuts. Almost every student is great because they have a real interest in what they are doing and more than likely they have been practicing on themselves and friends for years. The products they use are top quality professional and they are supervised closely. Students have to get practice to obtain the license so I feel good about getting a great deal on these services and also I am helping a young person with their career. I hope you will try this money saving tip.
