Well, I searched for Angelo Buono (hillside strangler) and Ted Bundy and neither of them were there.

I put in names of those I know have a record and nada...this isn't a good site.

heard about this on your show today...it's cheap, but you get what you pay for. I entered two known criminals' names, and got "0 Records Found". Usually what I hear on your show is worthwhile, but this seems to be useless.

I agree. This is useless. I put in a former tenant, who I know to have a crimanal record, and nothing came up.

I heard Clark lambasting the state of Arizona for it's use of traffic cameras for a revenue stream. I agree completely in the case of speeding cameras, but disagree in the case of red light cameras. When a driver passes into an intersection on a green light he or she is betting their LIFE that the other drivers will stop. Running a red light is a safety issue. Driving 65 in a 55 mph zone is not.

The search for criminals seems to be very old data and there's no explanation of what they are using and how up to date it is.

I've searched several names I know that have violent criminal histories and NOTHING. The only thing that I got to pop up was a sex offender, and we all know we can search at our local states sex offender site for there. This site's a joke and an ad farm. Clark Howard is a joke, I wish my parents would stop forwarding his crap emails to me...

Hi, I like to know how I can request that I do not want to be listed on Internet that everybody can find me. I am dealing with my husband exgirlfriend she can not get over their brake up and she follow us everywhere whereever we move. It makes me crazy - soon or later she find us. She sending us a letters, cards, notes - after we filled complain and try to get the restriction order agains her she stop sending mails but she find out the phone numbers and she is calling us constantly from "unknown #". We filled the complain again but we could not proof that is her because the unknown or restricted phone # so she is innocent. We changed the phone again but I am scared everytime to answer if I do not recognize the phone #. I will really apreciate if there is any way we will be not listed. Please warn your listeners about the Medical Insurance Bureau (MIB). There are multiple websites on this issue. I was turned down for insurance due to a doctor's record faulty submission and found out the hard way. I will be happy to discus if interested. But the MIB can ruin your life.

I entered a name I know has a long criminal record and it don't show anything. The free stuff obviously is free for a reason.

I used this site about two weeks ago and found records on almost everyone I know. I tried again today and everyone comes up clean. My guess is they got some publicity, then got into trouble with the folks that want to keep their past indiscretions private. Or maybe it's a website error.

I looked myself up and it came back 0 Records found. I have had at least 7 DUI's, and one time charged with aggrivated assault. This is junk. BTW Im a good guy now, on the right side of the law.

I ran a few names of pepole I know have records and recieved very inconsistent results. For checking out a blind date, maybe. For making business decisions on people NO WAY

I put in my ex-son in law's name (who I know has a record) and it came up 0 records - so take this site for what it's worth.

I typed in every variation of a man's name I know who has several felonies in the past 4 years, including child pornography felonies. Nothing came up... I would not use this site for anything serious!

I checked for an ex of mine who apparently hasn't changed in over 15 years, and it definitely works, he is still getting arrested! I am so glad I am not with him!!!!

Zero hits across the board, many people, several states. Just an enticement to use their fee services. Unfortunately, another example of Clark endorsing or recommending without having all the information. (or does he get a per-click kickback for directing traffic to that site?)

I agree with the opinion of the person who said they had a conviction when they were young and their children discovered it after surfing this "free" site. It's terrible a person who did something as a teen and has gone on to become a responsbile adult and parent has to live with a one-time wrongdoing their whole life. Imagine the guilt and harm that can be caused by this site being so easily available to everyone. Shame on you Clark Howard for endorsing it!

Just fyi - don't assume that if someone doesn't show up here that they are clear. I checked several names that I know for a fact have criminal records in NC and no results were returned. It's a great tool, but shouldn't be relied on completely.

It is not free, there are three packages to join...the lowest is $29.95. I know it is a one time fee but certainly not free

I have a relative with a criminal record who is on parole. He was not listed on this site.

I looked up three people who I know have criminal histories as their histories show up on the local corrections site. Only one, of the three I searched came back with information and that information did not include current offenses and convictions.

What about record checks for a fee? Are they reliable?

Please post a way to correct inaccurate information posted on those sites. It is nice to have a 'free' site, however it is not free if it ruins people reputations.

I put in a few people I know have been arrested and nothing came up. I knew one was from DeKalb, so I went to the sheriff's site and pulled up several offenses. Glad it works for some, but definitely not reliable.
