  • Used Car nightmare and your team's advice
    Clark,

I am a middle aged female who never dreamed I would be writing or even have a story like this to tell...but I do.

I purchased a used Saab with 29,000 miles back in April and since I picked it up on the 21st, my life has changed in many ways. Mainly in my trust for used cars and car dealers/manufacturers. This car was sold by a "reputable" dealer in Roswell whom stopped taking my calls when I called to report that the car would not start after having it in their shop for a high beam relay that did not work. They also changed the battery and did not give any reason why. I thought it curious as the car had been "checked out" with several points before I purchased.

When I could not get their attention I took the auto to a certified Saab/Subaru automotive shop and they determined it needed another battery and could not tell me why the car intermittently would not start and drain the battery.

After weeks of this I took it to Jim Ellis, also a certified Saab dealer with a staff of Saab specialists. After one week they said it was good to go, however on the very day I came to pick it up, they could not start it. Back it has gone and after several discussions with Saab USA, and of course the dealership I was frustrated beyond belief. I even called your team and their response was to trade it in. I found this advise troublesome as it would mean I would make somebody elsle's life miserable and impact their work, family and financial status as it has mine.

I wanted to write you so that you would know that I have always considered your advice reasonable and ethical, and that you would want to know that your team's advice was not helpful for me.

    Sincerely,

    Cherie Leiker
