A cheaper internet deal from AT&T on clarkhoward.com

AT&T has done something unethical. When they took over Bellsouth, as part of the deal they were forced to offer an inexpensive plan as one option. They did, offering a slower (768k) DSL connection at $10 per month. It's a great deal. But they hide the link to this service on the website, making it almost impossible to find if you don't know where to look! Well, Clark thinks this stinks, and wants you to know how to find the deal. Here's how:

Scroll down page, and just above Terms and Conditions look for the text link that says "Term contract plans available"
See "FastAccess DSL Lite with term agreement" and follow the instructions from there!

My experience with ATT's special deals
I had them give me the runaround on a great deal involving their DSL and home phone package. Unfortunately, I have to have a land line for my alarm. I kept attempting to signup online (a requirement for the deal) The website would not allow me to complete the purchase. I tried to get the same deal over the phone, but somehow, ATT kept losing any record of my calls after 2 attempts. When I filed a complaint with the FCC and the Better Business Bureau, ATT unexpectedly gave me the deal. I actually had an ATT rep call me to complete the deal and then call back and check to see that everything worked out. I'm certain that I would have gotten nowhere without the complaint. This was about 2 years ago, but it might be something to try if you are experiencing the same problem.

There is never any notes on your last call ,Even if you ask for the recorded call they will tell you We have no way of getting them ,I know I record all my calls and you should to.After playing them back to them problem fixed.

Isn't it funny how you call AT&T and they don't do what the promised...so you call back and then there are NO notes on your account?? Funny how this happens isn't it??

$10 DSL
This is still available and in plainer view on their site, however, it doesn't look like its available if you do not have AT&T home phone service. Why would I get their expensive crappy home phone service when I can use Skype for $2.95 a month!

$10 DSL
$10 DSL is still hidden on AT&T's website. The "mice type" states that it is available until 12/29/09 in the terms and conditions. When I tried to order the DSL, I recieved an error message and was told to call att. When I called and told the salesperson my dillema, she told me she could order it for me. The next day, I recieved a phone call from a lady who had said if I was promised the $10 deal it was only so the sales department could land the sale and that her computer said I ordered DSL for $25 per month. According to att, the deal was only available by ordering online. She also stated that the deal had expired. After many phone calls regarding being lied to by salespeople, the recording of my phone conversation where I ordered the DSL could not be found. I was simply told to order the DSL online. My 10+ attempts of trying to order online through live chat have usualy ended in them telling me to call customer service or to try again tomorrow. I am ready to cut my home phone line due to their customer no service.

DSL Rebates
n April, 2009 I saw an ad on the internet for AT&T which stated I would be given $125.00 rebate if I switched my internet provider from Cable to AT&T DSL. I called the operator at AT&T and she confirmed that I would receive the $125.00 if I switched my service and made a note on my account at that time (4-09).
I never received my rebate. I made several calls to AT&T and they promised to send it,but did not. I called again today and the customer service dropped my call twice when they heard the word REBATE. Finally, I spoke with Erica Gideon in the Customer Service Dept. She called Ray, ID #1005 in the Rebate center and told him she had the notes the original agent put in my account regarding the $125 I was supposed to get according to the internet ad. Ray ID#1005 refused to process the rebate because he said I don't have a local AT&T phone account. This issue was never mentioned in the ad or by the person who took my order for Internet service. Then Ray hung up on me. Ms. Gideon tried to advocate for me because she had the notes, but he wouldn't do anything to help me and refused me the rebate.
THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING! I HAVE BEEN LIED TO ABOUT THIS ISSUE SINCE APRIL. Many OTHER PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS ON THE INTERNET AS WELL. they won't switch me!!!!
I called ATT to tell them to take me off of the $37 plan and switch me to the "DSL lite" plan for $10. Just got my bill- they didn't change the plan. I called them and they had no record of my plan change.

att fake commerical
ATT is advertising att high speed internet and phone svc for under 35.00 but when you call they don't know what you are talking about and can not find on internet

AT&T Internet
As much as I would love to sign up for AT&T high speed, they do not offer it in my area. They seem to pick and choose which areas they are willing to provide service. I don't understand why I had their phone service, yet I cannot get their internet. Makes no sense to me.
I am held hostage by one, and only one Internet provider in my area, and they are awful. My only other option is via Dish Network. The technician from Dish, said, "Do not get your Internet from Dish". What is a person to do? Any suggestions would be great.

dsl $10 AT&T hidden on website
when I try to find out if I am qualified it redirects to a page that says unable to connect to that page. The website also says you can only get this offer via the web and not by calling them. So it is essentially not available bc you can't access it.
