Wal-Mart launches in-store pick-up

Wal-Mart has seen some erosion in online sales because of competition from other e-commerce sites. Users have to pay sales tax because the company has a presence in every state, so everyone has to pay tax. That is not the case with other Internet retailers. Wal-Mart also charges for shipping, while other sites do not if you hit a certain price point. Because of the lag, the company is trying something new to help boost online sales – in-store pick-up. Customers can now order items online, then go into a store to pick it up. There are no shipping costs, which is great for consumers. There is also benefit for Wal-Mart, according to the Orlando Sentinel. People who order items online end up spending an additional $60 on average in the store when they go to pick up their items. Try it out sometime if you’d like.

Get "wedding insurance" just in case

The average wedding today is bumping up against $30,000. And, typically for first weddings with younger brides and grooms, the parents of the bride pay for the wedding. That’s a lot of money that Mommy and Daddy have to shell out for down payments and parties, especially if the wedding doesn’t work out. The good news is that now there is a safety net for parents who foot the bill. It’s called “innocent party change-of-heart insurance,” and it allows parents to get their money back if the couple calls off the wedding at the last minute. This so-called “wedding insurance” is provided by Fireman’s Fund and it only protects an outside party that pays for the wedding. If the bride and groom pay for everything, they can’t take out the insurance. But if the parents have paid, they get their money back. Clark thinks it’s a great idea, especially with all of the people who get cold feet these days.

"Intelligent Keys" not so hot

Intelligent keys are coming out with lots of new models of cars. Many times they make life a little easier, but the smart key for the new Nissan Altimas have had just the opposite effect. If your smart key is right next to your cell phone and your phone rings, the I-key is permanently disabled. There is no way to fix it, and these I-key’s cost about $400 a pop. Nissan is including I-key malfunctions under the factory warranty so if you have been affected by this, call the dealer you bought your car from.
