Apr 26, 2007 -- Wal-Mart shunned in big citites and surrounds

Wal-Mart has had a tough time in big cities because the reputation of the company is so varied around the country. In fact, Wal-Mart has given up trying to move into New York City because people have protested it so much. They tried to go into Manhattan and that didn’t work. Then they tried Brooklyn, which was a no go. Target has been able to set up in the suburbs with no problem, and Clark doesn’t get it. Christa thinks Wal-Mart has a reputation as a “cheaper” store, even though they have great products like Target. It’s a conundrum.
