Mar 05, 2007 -- Clark's TV prediction was white noise

Sometimes Clark makes predictions about the future of the economy or a certain industry, and he admits that sometimes he gets it wrong. It happened with his prediction regarding the television industry. Last year, he predicted that the phone companies would be offering television by Christmas 2006. Well, he missed the mark by a bit. AT&T, the country’s largest telephone company, has about 7,000 TV customers as of now. Now, that doesn’t mean people haven’t tried. They call and are told that it’s simply not offered in that area yet. Verizon is doing a little better with about 700,000 TV customers, according to the LA Times. But combined these companies don’t even hit 1 million. There are about 85 million people who watch TV in the country. But, Clark is going out on a limb again. He says that by Christmas 2007 more people will have the option of getting television from telephone companies. We’ll see if it happens this year.
