Jan 05, 2007 -- "Lexus Lanes" up to $9.25 one way

Several years ago, Clark talked about a new highway system in Orange County, California that allowed drivers to pay extra money to travel on a faster freeway. The toll on the freeway is based on how many cars were on the road at the time and it changes throughout the day. But at peak times, it will now cost $9.25 one way. That’s outrageous and explains why this highway became known as the “Lexus Lane.” It’s actually known as “congestion-based pricing” and it’s spreading across the country. Some states are also allowing carpools to drive on the Lexus Lanes for free. Clark can’t think of any circumstance when he would pay nearly $10 to ride on a freeway. But it may be worth it to you!
