We are approaching a time when employers may impose certain edicts on you regarding health care. About two-thirds of people get their health care from their employers. And, as health care costs rise, those employers are having to come up with ways to meet their bottom line. For example, employers - through the insurers - are about to stick it to you if you prefer to buy brand name drugs. On the other hand, if you get a generic drug, you may get it for free or next to free. Sometimes brand name drugs dont have an exact generic competitor. But your doctor can tell you if there is something you can take that could also work. Now if it doesnt, youll have to pay the big bucks for brand name drugs. But it may work just fine. Health care is a privilege, not a right. But you want to be smart about getting it.
