Sep 22, 2006 -- BOA meter reaches $7 million

It’s Day 2 of Clark’s challenge to Bank of America customers to remove money from their BOA accounts in protest of how the bank treats its customers. The incident that prompted Clark’s challenge involved a San Francisco man who was arrested and jailed when he went into his BOA bank branch to verify a check that turned out to be a fake. The bank called police and Matthew was arrested on fraud charges. Clark found it appalling that BOA did not apologize or help pay for the Matthew's legal fees following the bank’s huge mistake. So, he asked customers to take out their money and cancel their accounts. Clark is overwhelmed by the response. Within a few hours of the segment airing, customers had removed more than $3 million. And today, that number is up to $7 million. How high does the BOA meter have to go before the bank does the right thing?
