Jul 10, 2006 -- Phone companies sell off your info
You may have heard about the government spying on our phone records, after three phone companies agreed to serve up our information on a silver platter. Only Quest refused to go along with the governments fishing expedition. We hear offers for this all the time. When you go to a retail store, youve probably heard the clerk ask if you want to save money. All you have to do is register with the company and let them track you. You are then offered various sales depending on what you buy. But everywhere you turn, were giving up private information. Sometimes its without our consent, but many times we give out our own information by choice. So, be aware that youre being tracked and it could come back to bite you if youre not careful.
