Clark uses Spybot Search & Destroy to keep his computer free of spyware. But CNET recently ranked two others higher. Get the best programs and keep your computer safe. Remember to click only once and disable your pop-up blocker first.

spyware is completly free just go to download.cnet.com look on the list and download it, another good one is malwarebytes
The real SpyBot is FREE
Unfortunately, those of you who found a fee attached to Spybot, have navigated to the wrong site. There are non-reputable companies that make it look as if you're downloading Spybot, only to scam you into paying for the service to "clean" your infections. Please be aware the the REAL Spybot can only be found at: http://www.safer-networking.org/

I downloaded SpyBot as Clark suggested and I found it actually slowed down my system. I now use CC Cleaner. It is free and does a great job.
Spybot is not free!
I am the author of the book, HARD CANDY: Nobody Ever Flies Over the Cuckoo's Nest. I did what Clark Howard advised regarding installing Spybot. It's not free. Wake up Clark. Just because it sparkles, it may not be gold.

I downloade 2 that were on the list after running them to be able to delet the problems they wanted money $29.95 for on and 39.95 for another thet were NOT FREE

What's going on!!!
I click on the "Get the best programs" link and I am told that I have to register with WSB. It gave me a bunch of runaround advertising and I never did get to the link. I'm disappointed that this kind of crap appears on Clark's site. I will be wary of clicking on any link in this site in the future. You constantly harp on sites that promise one thing and give you something that you don't want. Now you are doing it yourself. Shame on you.
antivrus 360
I don't know what or who to believe. I began getting all these pop-ups saying my computer was infected and I should upgrade my antivirus program and get a registration number. I bought the upgrade for $99.00. Now I come to discover that the whole thing may be some kind of scam. I cannot open my e-mail; everything is running slower; all sorts of problems. I now am in the middle of running a malware scan of the entire system. Lord knows what will happen next. Is Antivirus 360 for real or is it a scam?

I installed Norton antivirus in my computer, when expired it, it block totally my computer, It allows only to open their website to buy and update their software. Antivirus 360 keep poping and poping. Symantec/Norton/antivirus 360 is the supported software for Microsoft and they are the ones creating the virus and blocking computers untill you buy their software. The fact is that the IP adress is a microsoft address. It deserve a good investigation because if you have Symantec installed in your computer your computer always will have virus, trojans, adware,etc.
