The number of automobile deaths involving SUVs and no other cars is growing at an alarming rate. These accidents occur because SUVs have an unstable center of gravity and flip easily. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has internal documents from the Ford Motor Company stating that certain Ford employees know that Ford’s SUVs roof pillars are not safe. There are innumerable cases where people could have lived if they had safer roof pillars. Now Ford’s secrets are revealed. A Ford spokesman said Ford and Volvo are both safety pioneers and that there is no direct link between roof strength and automobile injury. Clark says this is simply not true.
