Commercials at the movie theater

When people go to the movies today, they are forced to sit through 15 minutes of previews and advertisements before their movie actually begins. This creates a lack of credibility with the theatre’s schedule because a 7:00 movie really does not start until 7:15 or 7:20. The reason that the theatres continue to run tedious previews and advertisements is because they do not make any money from ticket sales in the first couple of weeks of the showing. Instead, the theatres only make money from the concession stands and the previews and advertisements. Throughout the year, theatres earn 1/3 of a billion dollars from previews and advertisements. Clark thinks that theatres should bribe consumers to view the previews and advertisements. He thinks if someone actually watches 15 minutes of previews then they should receive something free from the concession stand. He says the only way to fight back against the theatres is to stop going to movies and wait until they come out for rental.

Developers stealing private property

Coming out of Washington is the idea that private developers are allowed to seize land and build roads wherever they want. This is also known as "Eminent Domain." The private developers pay whatever they want to for the property. The Texas legislature has pushed a bill through allowing private developers to take people’s property and build super-roads. These super-roads will be designed to be ¼ of a mile wide and will contain tollbooths. Texas plans to turnover 4,000 miles of private property for future roads. Clark thinks this is absolutely outrageous!! They are stealing people’s property for their own benefit. Politicians are selling the idea of Eminent Domain by promising the roads will have traffic congestion relief. But it's simply not true.

Colorful luggage coming your way

Today, there is a high-end market for travel suitcases, with some suitcases costing more then a trip to Europe. Luggage companies have started to make suitcases in a variety of colors and designs. Clark wants to know why luggage companies have not joined with colleges and universities to market school designs on luggage. He thinks prideful alumni would buy luggage with their school’s logos. Clark also predicts that by next Christmas the more moderate priced luggage makers will have a big push to sell luggage of any color variety or style. The era of any color of luggage, as long as it is black, is over!!

Mega banks adjust for customers

In the past, a lot of mega-banks would treat customers badly when they would open account. But in order to preserve market share the mega-banks are coming up with procedures for customers to open accounts almost immediately. This is occurring out of fear because the banks are losing market share. Several banks nationwide that are implementing these easier accounts are Bank of America, Citibank, Wachovia, and Wells Fargo. These banks are allowing customers to go to their websites, set up accounts after an identity confirmation, and immediately have an operable account. Clark thinks this is great. For a great bank with good savings, try emigrantdirect.ccom.

Splenda increasing in popularity

Splenda, an artificial sweetener, has given consumers the impression that it is a guilt-free, calorie-free alternative. Splenda is becoming so popular that manufacturers of food products are being put on quotas when purchasing the artificial sweetener. The popularity has grown so much that many restaurants are hiding their Splenda and only serving it upon request, because costumers are stealing large quantities the sweetener. Coke and Pepsi are starting to use Splenda in their products. Coke has created a Diet Coke with Splenda. While Splenda’s popularity continues to rise, it is currently being sued for saying it is a natural bi-product of sugar. So, just keep your consumption to a minimum.

Laptop computers down to $200?

In a couple of years, laptop computers could cost as low as $100-200. This will create a tremendous market for students everywhere. Countries, poor and not poor, will be buying laptops that will cost the same as an expensive dinner for two. Right now, desktops with monitors are selling for as low as $259, and laptops are going for as low as $499. And in the next few years, these cheap laptops will contain great features like wireless Internet, and will be much smaller then traditional laptops. If you have thought that computers are out of reach because of their outrageous prices, then you will soon be able to afford quality computers for almost no money.
