Up until a few years ago, people didn’t know about credit scores. Sure, we got credit reports. But people didn’t know that their credit score was whittled down into three numbers that lenders, insurance companies and even rental companies review before engaging in business with you. Actually, you have three credit scores from each of the credit bureaus – Equifax, TransUnion and Experian. Do you know your credit score? Some of us do not, but everyone should. And, one bureau, TransUnion, is even offering $1,000 to people with an 850, or a perfect score. They hope, of course, that you’ll buy your score from them, but you could win $1,000.
