Be careful when buying cars online

The Internet is where you want to head these days when you’re looking for the best deal on a car. But the Web can also be quite risky. Clark saw a story last week about the number of purchases people are doing on auction sites such as eBay Motors or AutoTrader. Some of these people have lost thousands buying cars sight unseen. You can’t assume that the seller is representing him or herself honestly. So, be careful. Use the Internet to price cars and get quotes on the value of cars. But don’t buy online unless you have done some serious homework. You always want to have the car checked out by a mechanic, and you want that person to be ASE certified.

This week's poll
The high cost of jet fuel has a lot of people staying at home this summer instead of traveling. Is there a "staycation" in your immediate future?
Yes, I just can't afford a plane ticket and/or hotel room right now.
No, I've saved up all year just to get away for a bit.
Maybe, I have to wait and see how my finances pan out.
