Feb 10, 2004 -- How much are you saving on each dollar?

The Federal Reserve recently reported that people are saving about a penny on each dollar earned. People face a lot of difficulty as individuals and families if we’re only saving this much. Clark wanted to know how well his listeners are doing, so he asked the question in his latest poll. The good news is that one in ten of our listeners are saving about a third or more of their pay. That is outstanding! That is the average in Japan, but we’re doing okay. How about people who are not saving a penny? One in seven people are not saving a thing. Clark recommends that people save a dime on each dollar. And, according to our poll, we have as many people saving a dime as we do saving less than a dime. So, that is good news. It’s up to each of us to save the money that is going to provide for our future and our retirement, so get with the program!
