Clark recently saw a chart on
bankrate.com that shows what will happen if you put money into mutual funds today. The chart showed what will happen if you choose a low cost provider versus a typical provider. The outcome is very different. For instance, if you put $25,000 into a low cost fund, you will have just under $100,000 after 15 years. Put the money into a traditional fund and youll have only $80,000. Thats a lot of money when you think about it. Is your stockbroker worth $20,000? People have been thinking about this a lot since the mutual fund scandals that have rocked Wall Street. As a result, low cost providers such as Vanguard, TIAA-CREF and T. Rowe Price have been bombarded with calls. According to the Dow Jones News Wires, Vanguard is having a serious service problem because of the influx of calls. Vanguards business has more than tripled, going from about $3 billion to $10 billion a month. So, the company is getting complaints about its lack of response. Clark wants you to know that Vanguard will straighten out these problems. The company is one of the most well-respected in the business. But he wanted you to know that you may wait a lot longer if youre calling to set up an account.
