Jan 09, 2004 -- Barron's estimates job revival soon

Clark wanted to tell you about some very positive news on the job front. We have had some very tough times over the past three years, with jobs going away in three very important sectors: technology, travel and telecommunications. Employment has not come back at the rate people would like to see, and a lot of people have gotten discouraged. But Barron’s magazine’s cover story directly addresses the positive job outlook on the horizon in many careers. Nursing, computer sciences, financial services are just a few. There are fields that don’t even exist right now that will exist in the future. If you think about it, you probably hadn’t heard about the Internet 10 years ago and “tech jobs” were almost non-existent. Barron’s refers to it as “The Five Trends” that over the next 20 years will provide a great opportunity for jobs and for making more money. People who work in government may have some trouble over the next year or so because states are still struggling. But the overall picture is good. Kids who are in high school and elementary school right now, and who go to college, will come into a job market that is very positive. Isn’t it nice to know that after years of scratching our heads it’s only a matter of time before people are back at work in full force.
