I bought and installed many of these bulbs around my house. Then I decided I wanted the old incandescent bulbs back because of the CFLs are noisy and they don't give enough light to read by. When I changed the bulbs the incandescent bulbs burned out the first time I turned them off and back on. These were brand new incandescent bulbs. I tried changing several light fixtures back to the incandescent bulbs and each time the incandescent bulb burned out the first time it was turned off and then back on again. <br> Please explain why this happened. I thought it might be the mercury that caused this. It's a mystery to me.
