My wife and I have 3 cars; a 2005 Maxima (18000 mi) used primarily for trips out of our town, a 1995 Maxima used by my wife for most of her driving and a 1994 Sentra used by me for most driving around town. My wife is convinced that in this way we will
a)save on gas expense because of the differential in gas mileage in favor of the Sentra over the 2005 Maxima and
b)reduce the wear and tear on the 2005 car, thereby extending its useful life.
(We keep cars at least 10 years)

Does this arrangement pay, considering the costs to maintain the third car?

This week's poll
Should apartment complexes be allowed to completely ban smoking -- from the entire property, not just the apartments?
Absolutely, second-hand smoke is dangerous.
No way, that's too totalitarian.
I'm not sure.

Would you pay extra to live in a non-smoking apartment complex?
Yes.
No.
