We have used Skype to call from computer to computer from the US to both S. Korea and the Solomon Islands. Both parties have to have high speed internet access (not dial-up), but sound quality has been good most of the time. Some delays on calls to SI, but that is because the whole country gets their internet by satellite, not the fault of Skype. Generally the sound quality has been good and has been improving. A great deal, since all you need is a headset for the computer. Regular long distance of any kind to SI is way over $1.00 per minute.
