I think it is a shame that our government officials have allowed the price of gas to sky rocket out of control. And I think it is a big joke for the any government official to think that a rebate of $300 to $600 will do anything to boost the economy with the price of gas as it is. I know a big, big chuck of my discretionary income now goes in the gas tank. And yes, I have done just about all I can to conserve as much gas as I can.
I believe that we should be drilling for oil here in the United States.
I believe that when car companies advertise 30 miles to the gallon, a car should get 30 miles to the gallon.
And I do NOT believe most American are apathetic and wasteful as many have stated. I know too many people especially those that are older on fixed incomes and young families just starting out that the cost of fuel has a major effect on their lives.
In the last 30 years or so, the United States has did a lot to clean up the air and water - have you ever been to China? So what if we use alot of gas, electricity, etc. We are a nation of abundance and frankly, what is wrong with that?
