it's funny that the same people who complain about oil prices are likely the ones who commute 100 miles a day so they can live in a mcmansion, drive 14mpg SUVs, and oppose the expansion of public transportation. the us needs another kick in the ass--maybe it will curb the continued suburban sprawl, get us to drive more fuel efficient cars, carpool, etc. we don't need to lower taxes or give special incentives to those that drive fuel efficient cars. if gas goes up enough, we'll see more of them on the road. i fill up my tank once every 2 months; for all i care, gas can go to $10/gallon.
