It is true. Americans are generally self-centered and more concerned about their convenience than considering their future. It may debatable whether oil companies are making record profit considering the prices for barrels of oil. However, these companies get tax incentives to explore newer alternatives to energy. I think that is crap. They are doing anything but give lip service. They will continue their focus on refining oil until it is sucked dry. Until Americans not only change their driving habits and actively demand change will anything take place. However, most people are too apathetic or self-serving ... for the here and now.
