High gas prices are due to low supply. Last year China grabbed all the available supply and even tried to buy oil in offshor Louisiana. Cuba sold right to China to drill off Key West florida, while Mel Martinez blocked offshore drilling by USA. Our Politicians should promote energy production in USA instead of increasing taxes on energy. Solar energy cannot replace oil. Most people can't afford a $50,000 hybrid. Hybrids run on batteries which are charged with electricity, which is made from buring oil.
