C'mon people. Drive small cars! Charge people based on what gas mileage they get! Well why don't we burn them at the stake while we're at it... OPEC contorls the oil market through production limits. As demand or global unease occures, traders bid up the price in the futures markets. The futures markets are efficient and no one can control them for more than a few days at best. Our dependance on OPEC is the real problem with gas prices... IF you got 100 mpg OPEC can make gas $20 a gallon by limiting production, nothing to stop them. All other talk is irrelevant, we are dependant on unfriendly market cartels who hate us and control our energy costs. We need energy independance, not punish eachother, ya boneheads!
