Here is what I suggest we do to help stem fuel consumption.<br> <br> At the pump we should have 2 setups. One pump is for cars that get 20+ MPG these people would get a discount on their gas say 1.50/gallon.<br> <br> For the under 20 MPG autos they have another pump that charged 2.50/gallon.<br> <br> That way all you gas guzzeling people can still drive your big trucks to the store for milk.<br> <br> Perhaps this can be in the form of a tax break/tax increase once a year. That way the pumps don't need to change. It would go by the type of car you drive via auto registration and mileage you drove.<br> <br> I would also use the extra money that the government received as an incentive for the high MPG drivers. That way the (taxes for gas) would not go in a bottomless pit. Many people want to tax things only never to see where that extra money goes. Simple solution. People will drive less and less their hogs.
