They offer some great long-overdue consumer protections.
They're just window dressing for an industry that will still rip you off.

I use credit responsibly so the rules really don't impact me.


Gov't is considering replacing the state gas tax with a mileage system that taxes you for every mile driven. How do you feel about the idea?
I have concerns about having my vehicle tracked or my mileage tallied. Also, the existing gas tax encourages consumers to consider more efficient vehicles.
It would be a fairer way to raise funds for road and bridge upkeep in an age when gas-tax revenues are declining due to better fuel efficiency.
I'm not sure yet. I need to learn more about the issue.


As we enter tax season, e-mail scammers pretending to be from the IRS are at it again. Have you ever received a bogus IRS e-mail?
