I love the show! I would like to see a 30 sec. sound bite on how interest is figured on home loans, helocs, and credit cards. You could do one a week or all three. I'm trying to figure out whether I have 3 years left on a 7% mortgage and wonder if I would be paying more interest by paying it off with a heloc @ 3.9% How do I do the math? I can always pull up an amortization schedule and add the interest, but how do I do the math with the other? I would imagine a lot of people would love to know how they "do the math" with these financial products!

I watched your show in which you mention that Costco's Kirkland Brand Formula was equal to the named brand and under your advice I tried it. Please don't give that advice again. My baby was very uncomfortable with plenty of gas and a very hard stomach after drinking her formula. While I still take your point that buying name brand is not usually worth it, I have to disagree with you in this case as I had a fussy baby and 2 cans of unused formula in the trash.

Although you presented some good ideas for bank rules, you were totally wrong about the CAUSE of the economic meltdown. GOVERNMENT was the cause beginning with Carter's CRA, then put on steroids by Clinton, exploited by Obama-trained "community organizations" (ACORN) who used the law to FORCE BANKS TO MAKE STUPID LOANS. To avoid revolt by the banks who all new better, the GOVERNMENT (Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae)bought the loans from the banks from the banks -- ergo, subprime mortgages defended to the very collapse by corrupt GOVERNMENT officials like Chris Dodd and Barney Frank despite warnings since 2001 by Bush. So what do you expect from the banks, forced to make stupid loans, but protected from loss by the GOVERNMENT?

I was an Electronic Tech in the Navy for four years and spent 28 yrs. with Pacific Hell (I mean Bell>>LOL). And I not too long ago purchased, and enjoy using my Asus Netbook 8.9". Anyway, IMO, most PPL that develop PC problems is not the fault of the computer, but either a software glitch that they caused, or came down with a virus or some type of malware. Not the PCs fault or the manufacturer. Many PPL probably shouldn't even own one, should have stuck with Webtv>>LOL.

I wanted to give you one example that shows you are RIGHT about Red Light Cameras not being for safety, but just put there to collect another TAX from drivers. Four or five years ago Greensboro (NC) put in Red Light Cameras, saying we would be safer for it. The fines piled up immediately. Then the state courts ruled that, due to an old NC law, all money from such fines must go to the NC school systems rather than to the local governments. They very soon shut down the Greensboro cameras rather than collect money for the schools. Those cameras have been out of use for over 2 years now! So much for concern about our safety as drivers......it was all for the money, and we all knew it. Wil Courter

Yesterday, 9-20-09, I received 2 emails from B of A stating some other computers have logged onto my online banking account and multiple password failures were present before the logons. B of A now needed to RE-CONFIRM my account information by clicking on the LINK PROVIDED! (https://update.bankofamerica.com) HEY, I DON'T HAVE A B of A ACCOUNT! Scary! The message is from "Bank of America" It also states that if this is not completed by Sept 23, 2009, "we will be forced to suspend your account indefinitely, as it may have been used for fraudulent purposes." They then thanked me for my cooperation and later thanked me for my patience. Wow! I thought your listeners should know.... Thanks.

I have watched a few episodes of the show, but it is too intense to watch. The moving camera, pop-up bubbles and other items overwhelm me. I may not be your target demo of 25-30 year olds, but the moving around of the camera distracts me. The bubble pop-up noises should be a bit quieter.
Otherwise, I love the transition. The only problem is that as an avid listener, some of the questions feel like rehashes of the week.
Plus, what's up with the suit? You told me there was a Clark Howard uniform.

I love your show. You always give great tips. I am now obsessed about finding "the deal". FYI - I was reviewing a recent antivirus scan and it stated that MJ had been blocked from dowloading a Trojan Malware file. This was one of multiple types of intrusions from MJ that were blocked. Anyway, I talked to one of the online support agents from MJ. I relayed the info to the agent and she specified that they have no such program or file that would be attached to MJ. So I said, "OK, can you email me a transcript of this chat conversation for my records?" DENIED. The agent informed me,"Please be aware that we cannot email you regarding this matter." I love the service Clark, but this response didn't make me feel warm and fuzzy. In her defense, she did relate later in the conversation that they only have chat support as of the moment. Clark, you gave kudos to USAA in a recent show. Did you know USAA contacted all it's bank members by letter to say that if they didn't agree to arbitration for resolving disputes with the bank (i.e. wave all rights to trial) they must close their accounts by 1 Oct! In a previous TV program this year, Clark, you said to ditch any bank that limited your rights to arbitration. So, what's different about USAA?

Clark - you provide invaluable information! You should be required watching at all American High Schools. I just wish your HLN show covered more ground in 30 minutes. I also think the promotion of your show is a bit "goofy" when its subject matter is MUCH MORE applicable to people's lives than most news programs. You deal with serious issues! Hey Love the show and I have a question for you. Why does the goverment and media always refer to the unemployment rate as those on unemployent benefits, instead of looking at the whole picture/real numbers (those who never filed,did not qualify, used up their benefits or may have some temp or part time job)of 16.8%?
I think the media distorts the real story by repoting unemployment in the 10% range.
Somebody needs to tell the real story, we are creeping towards 20% unemployment/underemployment.

The only shortcoming that I see is that I record it then watch it. When I do this I get two two hours segments, but one gets recorded five times. For some reason the dvr can not tell that the first segment each week is already recorded.

Clark I'm very glad to see you on TV. I have student loan since 1995. I took my master degree on 1995 - 1998. Nobody told me I have to pay this student loan later but this is not the issue because I'm willing to pay my mistake. I did take my master because they told me it was a good opportunity in my life. I wasn't speaking any word in English and by mistake I sign those papers. On 2000 I found I have this student loan and I start it looking around for any lawyer can help me to fix this big mistake. I spoke with the lawyer and I explain it I want to include this student loan in my bankruptcy. I start it paying $752.00 every month for 5 years. On 2007 I found I wasn't paying anything to my student loan. I was so disappoint it but I was calling the student loan company and trying to see what I have to do. Now I don't have job, I lost my house, I don't have car. I did pay my life insurance for 15 years on time and now I can’t pay a penny. I don't have anything at this point. I'm applying for job. They are calling but when they check my credit report I don't hear anything else about them. I don't know what I have to do. Just I need to fix it. They don’t understand how I feel. They are so mean. Please give me your advice what I have to do. I need to find a job and start my life again. Still they are taking my income tax every year. This year they were taking $7,700. Please give your advice.

I work with traffic. speed contibutes to more crashes and more severe damage and injuries. I support police enforcement. If you don't want a ticket, don't speed. the red light cameras are perfect for letting people know that enforement will be absolute. relate driving to golf ethically. in golf a mistake, even if un-noticed will be reported by the golfer and the penality recorded. could you imagine that ethical attitude with driving. oops, I'm speeding, better send in my fine. our roads would be safer. please don't knock enforcement efforts on your show. they are to protect you and you family.

you talk about using old credit cards so thaye are not cancelled and to maintain your credit score. I believe getting rid of old cards and keeping 1 or 2 is best. so you take a hit on your score for a while. you have less risk of crime against your credit and less temptation for use. I am not a fan of encouraging folks to use credit anyway. Save and pay for it. Cards should be for emergency only. BTW my wife and I have a high 700 score. we simply do not believe in the fico system. your risk should be based on your income and whether you pay your bills.

As a pediatrician and a cost conscious Mom, I know that breast milk is the best food for a baby and it is FREE. I heard this past week on HLN that Clark mentioned that the only credit score that matter is Equifax because that this your TRUE FICO score and that all the other ones are just estimates. This is misleading because it depends on who your lender is and what credit reporting agency they use is. Not all of them use Equifax so a Transunion or Experian score may be the one they use to give you an loan/interest rate/offer, etc. I called FICO (Fair Isaac) and asked them about if Equifax was the “true” credit score and this is what they told me.

I love the show but I hate the fact that Comcast takes the last 5 minutes of the show to showcase local people - I really hate those segments and can't find a way to complain to Comcast about it.

As far as your show, you should showcase more ways for people to save money. But you are doing a good job. Keep it up!

Did you know HLN CH. 38 in L.A. cuts your show off 10 minutes before it ends? They play some mess called So Cal Connected. I never get to see your last segment(s). Please help us! I really wanted to see your segment on shopping totals where you compare name brand vs store items.

I invested in a number of business which left me financial broke i did not know a recession was going to hit which cause my business to not be so successful. My questions? The band has attempt to foreclosure one and i file Chapter 13 i thought i pay the attorney and he file. Now i am founding out i have to pay the US Trusty $500.00 a month plus my mortgage payment $645.00 plus $145.00 to catch up on my total 14,000. I offered them ten thousand and they refused they wanted the entire 14,000. Now that i was forced to file bankruptcy to keep my house. Please explain to me why i have to pay the bankruptcy $500,00 a month plus my attorney fees and my bank attorney fees etc.

You said if the US went more into debt because of the health care proposal, our country would lose its "preeminent position" in the world. We are number one in things like military invasions and prison population. Other nations are ahead of us in health care, high speed rail, solar energy production, and affordable universities.

I did some research on Streighttalk (Trackphone, Inc) and found a site that folks can send complaints to and there were mixed opinions but it appeared there were an awful lot of complaints and serious frustration regarding Customer Service. Not only were there a lot of them they were really vehement. I've got Verizon right now (two phones) and the cost is $64.00 for 300 minutes. After reading some of the letters on the other site I'm not sure I want to take a chance with Trackfone or there Customer Service.

I usually watch your show on Saturdays and Sundays. There is usually at least 2 shows back to back. You mentioned a website for cheap Egytian airfares from New York but when I looked on your website I couldn't find it. Perhaps you could find out what reruns are aired on each day so that you could list the websites currently. I don't know when I watch which show is new and which is a rerun. One recent early morning we happened upon your TV show. That morning you gave advice to a caller about settling an insurance issue by contacting their state insurance commission. It just so happened my wife and I had been attempting to settle on an old insurance claim with at least 16 telephone calls in the last three months, to the “other guy’s” insurance company. Their offer had been to pay us for our vehicle they claimed was “totaled”. After hearing Clark suggest the state insurance commission and with the help of my own insurance company, we contacted the “other guy’s” company, again. This time we told the “other guy’s” company if they did not cooperate today, we were going to the state insurance commission and file a complaint against them. Low and behold we did get to speak with someone live (first time in 17 tries) at the “other guy’s” company (thanks to a very helpful and persistent person at our company) and the settlement was finalized that day on the phone! Thanks to Clark Howard for suggesting to mention our state insurance commission consumer complaint department as an incentive to the “other guy’s” company. We would have never thought of using the commission as an avenue to assist us with settling and all it took was mentioning their involvement.

I thought I agreed with your advice on dropping full coverage on an older vehicle until I did it. My wife had an accident 2 weeks later and I had not taken into account the cost of renting a vehicle (especially insurance since no full coverage), towing of the vehicle, storage and then discarding. In my case it added about $2,500 to the cost not including the $4,500 vehicle loss. Consider this before dropping coverage.

I watch, listen, and live by Clark Howard. I have learned so much in the time I have listened to Clark's words of wisdom. He is the most sincere, honest personality in the media today. I pretty much take his advice as gospel. He hasn't steered me wrong yet.

I was in the Atlanta airport on a lay-over Saturday listening to your show - good show! However, you completely missed the mark with one caller. A young lady asked the best way to save money in feeding and diapering an infant. You said cheap formula and warehouse diapers. The cheapest (and best) way is to nurse the baby and use cloth diapers. Using either has been estimated to save enough to buy a major appliance; both would double the savings. Plus both are proven much better for the infant.

Your radio show is fast pased and I have learn quite a bit from you. The TV show is slower and too busy. I found it too boring to watch, sorry to say. Of course not all of you advise is applicable to all of us. Unless you live in a city, it is hard to use one of the great cell phone deals because the signal strength is so inconsistent!

Abusive, perhaps not; however, I don't like Clark nay-sayers. I suspect anyone who finds fault with Clark's approach is either a whole-life-insurance salesman or an unhappy human taking pleasure in insulting good caring people. Either way, I hope they work forever and still die broke (and lonely).

We decided to take your advice and check out www.chegg.com to see if the textbook rental prices were really that much cheaper. We were utterly amazed -- especially when you calculate the new textbook price. Buying used textbooks through my son's college is still a LOT more expensive than chegg. One book was priced at $152 new and $120 used, but on chegg we found it for $56.95! The shipping for three books was only around $7, so we saved over $170 using chegg. My husband and I watch you frequently in the mornings. We happen to own an Alarm Company in Arizona. We have heard you on two seperate occasions, giving people misinformation on alarm systems, contracts, how much they pay.........etc. You don't understand that SOMEONE pays for their equipment and their monitoring. Obviously you have had a bad experience with an Alarm Co. at some point and time. But telling people that they shouldn't be signing a contract, they shouldn't be paying this or that, is WRONG. Every situation is different and you need to be explaining that to your callers. Especially the guy that got Vonage "after" the system was installed!! Recently on your show Natasha asked about ways to spend less on a baby. You advised her to purchase generic brands of diapers and wipes. although this is good I think that she should try to nurse her child (use a breast pump to express) and as it pertains to diapers when the baby comes buy a small amount of diapers (generic or not) and if her child reacts that brand then she isnt out a whole of money.

Why would you tell someone not to pay the credit card company the money that they owe? Your caller cannot just close an account that she still owes money on and think that the company cannot charge her interest. That's the point of a credit card company. Your advice should have been: If you do not plan on paying the company 2500$, you should not charge 2500$. Instead your advice was about how to swindle people out of money that they are owed simply because it is unlikely they will hire the lawyer to get the money that is rightfully theirs. Let us also keep our fingers crossed that the company will not turn the account over to a collection agency. Congratulations on being a stand up professional.

One thing... You seem to be a little "unsettled" about being on TV as opposed to being on Radio. Somke time, your shuffling of papers, researching on the computer etc seems a distraction. Advise avoid live questions.

I watched the show at noon today. I heard the a segment on collection calls was coming up next. I, too, am being hounded to pay a debt that is not mine. I thought I had spaced out and missed the segment, so I watched again at 4:00pm. I discovered that WSB had preemented that segment, both times, with a news update. I then tried to find the segment on the web site. I see it listed, but I can not access it. Any suggestions?

I have a degree in math and here is how the professor done it. It's not that complicated.

We have to choose 5 balls from 56 and 1 ball from the 46 Mega Balls.

To win the big prize we must choose all 5 correctly plus the Mega Ball.

(5/56)(4/55)(3/54)(2/53)(1/52)(1/46)=
1/175,711,536

Or we can use combinations, like so:

C(5,5)*C(51,0)*C(1,1)/(C(56,5)*C(46,1))=
1/175,711,536..same as above.

We chose 5 from the 5 winning balls and 0 from the remaining 51 loser balls, and also chose 1 from the winning Mega Balls. All divided by the total number of combinations.

I am amazed that you seem to know nothing about HUD's free counseling service for distressed homeowners. HUD has a network of more than 2,700 trained counselors to work with people who are in default and facing foreclosure. There is absolutely no cost to the homeowner. HUD certified counselors are successful in obtaining modifications every day. You are not serving your audience very well when you never mention this service while warning homeowners about for profit scams. Shame on you.

I enjoy your show very much and am learning so much but I get very upset during the last 5 minutes of each show when the local news comes on. Just before that you've given me a little tidbit of what's coming next and then I don't get to hear it because of the local news which is on constantly every half hour or hour 24-7 on HLN. It's really not necessary. Wish you could do something about it at least during your show!!!!

mr howard, i am so disappointed and angry i just have to say somehting. i listen to you every morning. today you said there are only two sites to go to for a FREE credit report. i did just what you said, i gave them my personal info, along with my social security number. as soon as they had my SS # they redirected me to a page with an advert to buy a credit report i went back to the other page and it was just a circle leading nowhere. now, someone has my information and i dont know what to do. i am going to have to go to my bank and cancel everything and start over with a new account. no wait they have my SS# so i guess it doent matter where my money is, they can get it. thanks mr howard for misleading me. i wont be watching anymore. you should be ashamed of yourself to take money to advertise some company like that... buy

You better check your facts on which credit scores lenders use for conventional mortgages. We use the middle of the 3 credit scores, not the FICO as you indicated this morning. That is misleading and misinforming your viewers.

I love your show!!! If my son uses a plan to pay off his credit cards earlier,through a consumer credit counseling service will it hurt his credit? He is trying to get a job as a full time high school teacher,will this hurt him to get a job if they check his credit,so far he has made all the payments on time,but it is getting hard to do that as not as much money is coming in due to the slow down of the business. Howard, I watch your show as often as possible. I'll keep this short and to the point. I have two Capital One cards,one had a 10,000 limit on it to start out, as time went on,I gradually used up about 5,500 of the limit.Then one day,Capital One dropped that limit to 6,000 and changed my due date,of which I didn't pickup on until it was too late. They already started the late fees and all and I can not seem to get it under control no matter how hard I try.I called and tried to nego. a settlement with them but to no avail. If I were to cancel the cards with a balance on them, how wound it affect my Credit score? I know that I would continue to make my payments until they would both be paid in full and as long as I were to pay them on time,I wouldn't be charge any late fees. Please advise ASAP. Thanks Gary

I love your show but wish it wasn't sponered by an auto warranty repair company with a very shady reputation.

I watch occasionally and hear advice about business. One suggestion for a new business owner is not to outrun your cash. If your % growth is greater than your % margin you have to have a well of cash available from some source.

I can't think of one thing I don't like about your show. You are very unique. I love the set, the warning sirens, and the genuine reaction to people getting ripped off or the death of loved ones. You can tell you’re not an actor and I think that's great. Keep up the good work.
Clark, stay out of politics and religion. Doing your "on the road tour" in churches may turn some people off or keep them from going. Try community or senior centers or High School auditoriums.
You defiantly picked the right network in HLN. Doing anything in collaboration with Fox News (Hannity or whoever) is a bad thing for your integrity. After watching and listening to you for years, it would be hard to take you seriously listening to you on the most bias and untrustworthy news (lol) network. It would be like you doing a commercial for a credit card company. No one would take you seriously after that. Smart, unbiased people, who look at both sides before forming an opinion don't take Fox News seriously.
Also, standing during your show and polo shirts make you seem more like one of the guys and not a news reporter or corporate drone. Love your show!

I really like your show & i think it is nice that their are people out their that are still wanting to help their fellow Man.I take care of my 89 year old Mother & I came home with Milk from Krogers. She told me the milk tasted like water. I told her that it was whole Milk from kroger but when I looked at the label it stated one of the bi-products was skim Milk.The next time I went into Krogers I asked an employee,why kroger didn't carry whole Milk? He stated they did. I asked him if he was a betting Man he said yes. I told him I would bet him $5 he said lets make it $100. I said you are on. He took me back & pointed to the Milk. I had him reed the label. He said he had been with Krogers for 15 years & didn't realize that Kroger didn't carry whole Milk. I didn't take his Money but but I did get a free 1/2 gallon of Mayfield Whole Milk. People look at the color of the label & assume that they are getting Whole Milk.Reed Lables & then compare to see if you really got a bargin. I like buying off brands but we can all be fooled.Krogers should be reprimanded for fooloing the Public. Now do you see why the Milk is cheaper?

First of all thank you for taking the time to teach us all how to use our money more effectively. I appreciate it and so does my family.
While I know this topic has been beaten to death over the years I found myself in a dilemma a few weeks back when I was purchasing a TV at Walmart. I was very through in my pricing and research to find the best deal available to me, and once I decided on my make and model headed over to my local Walmart.
Now, I know that you love the value Walmart provides its customers, but you detest the huge sums of money that companies make off of offering extended warranties and the like. I re-read through your site before making any decisions and the only information I could find on was Best Buy and Circuit City (RIP) and the ridiculous amounts they charge their customers.
Well, I got to the store to buy the TV and surprisingly got some great service , as opposed to the traditional Walmart method of me picking it, answering my own questions, and me lugging it out to the car. When I got to the register though the young lady asked me if I wanted a service plan. Being
"Clark Savvy" I politely told her "No, thank you." She told me a few more things about it and told me I had 90 days to change my mind. Looking through the little brochure it seems to have some merit, but you do this for a living and I am just buying a TV.
Are all extended warranties created equally? I bought it on my debit card so I do not know if I am protected like you mentioned for some credit cards? I can afford it, but is it worth my money?
Anyway, just an idea for the show to help us indecisive ones figure it out . By the way I have 45 days left should I change my mind.

I think that the reasons a lot of stores gouge the consumer is not because they have to but because of corporate greed.

The website Clark Howard suggested woot.com links you to a wesite called 1 sale a day and they have been ripping peple off. By the comments on their own website lef by people who have done business with them they rip peope off.

I just got a notification that if I do not obtain this credit cards "Account Security". They will cancel my credit card. Only good thing is they gave me a sase. LOL Who actually gets the benefit of this Account Security? The credit card company?

On question just answered (noon Saturday) about grandma's credit card debt. - Perhaps Grandma's kids are not liable so you said no hurry in paying it off. However when grandma passes, that debt would still be a debt that has to be paid and thus taken from estate. So in essence, the people that would have inherited the money do "lose" it eventually, right?

Hello Howard. I heard your advice to the caller who remitted periodic principal payments along with his monthly payment. I am a closing agent of 29 years and address this situation quite often. In addition to your advice, consider telling folks to get an amortization schedule and make notes alongside the payment. This way they can see their balance at any given time. Ammos can easily be had via the internet or ask their lender. Also, to periodically call the lender and check their principal balance with the lender's to be sure it's being credited correcly. Keep up the good work.

Clark...I was so disappointed in a show you did recently on RX discount cards. I work at Rite Aid, and you didn't even mention RA! We match $4 WM and Kroger, Target, Kroger, etc...AND we have a FREE RX Savings Cards that gives discounts on hundreds of drugs AND you get 10% additional discount on RA brands, any day of the week---if that's not a deal..then I don't know what is? On top of that, we don't have long wait lines like WM and we strive as part of RA core culture on providing excellent Customer Service...that's what I call a great drug store...very proud to be a RA Pharmacist...Uma

The show is great! Would love to pass on true insider info about purchasing a car. Buyers need to try to secure thier own financing BEFORE stepping a foot in a dealer. Know the rate they are offered.Dealerships often budge the rate by a couple of points and make $$ off you there too.If you know your rate, you can negotiate that as well!

New show people, you can't find a more knowlegeable man that Clark Howard. He's a great speaker and most folk trust him. A winner.

I believe in the importance of debt repayment, practical spending, saving for retirement, having an emergency fund, etc. I appreciate and live by a lot of what Clark teaches and preaches. One of the major points left out of his and a lot of other "financial experts'" teachings is this: How come Clark and Suze and others don't tell people that they need to pay their debts no matter what? I mean, people got themselves into the debt so they should be held responsible for it and required to pay it back. U.S. financial structure and the laws have made it too easy in the past for people to just walk away. I understand there are people with exceptional situations and circumstances where it there is no other way BUT to walk away. But for the most part, there is not enough accountability. And where have peoples' morals, values and common sense gone? It blows my mind how uneducated people are about money (and other things). And it angers me to no end that those of us who DO educate ourselves and act responsibly must pay for those who don't. Grrrrrr. I'm ready to go back to a system which uses CASH ONLY.

You said Equifax or MyFico are the only places that give you a 'real' credit score. You also said one can be requested at quizzle.com. The one at quizzle.com is an Experian score (which you claimed on your show was a 'made-up' score). The MyFICO score is substantially lower than the one listed on Experian. So if that's a 'made-up' score, how does one get a TRUE score from all 3 Bureaus? Why do we have 3 different Credit Bureaus anyway?

I'm going to continue asking this question until you provide an answer or throw me off your site. How can you allow US Fidelis to advertise on your show? They have an "F" rating with the BBB, and currenty have 1109 complaint & government actions pending. People who watch your show can only assume that you endorse the companies that advertise during your air time????

I just watched your show today, and you mentioned email scams.
There is a program that lets you filter emails, and bounce scams back to the sender. I never bring mail in without it and it's called Mail Washer - it's a must have for any PC owner. I rarely get scams now as I've bounced them all back - so they think my email address is non functioning - please tell people

I have no health insurance. I am willing to work for medical coverage. I have 10 plus years of care giving. Also, experienced in working in kitchens, janitorial, and transportaion. I had a property the bank foreclosed on. The 2nd mortgage was not paid at the sale. Now the bank is coming after us for that money owed. Is that legal? Why was it not paid or negoited at the time of the sale. We do not have money to pay that what will happen now?

I like your show. I'd like to call your attention to the fact that one of the ads that recently appeared during your HLN show was for USfidelis. Check them out - they seem to be running a scam. Start here: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2009/04/fidelis.html. According to that site, "The Better Business Bureau has received over 1,000 complaints about U.S. Fidelis and its affiliates over the past three years, leading the Bureau to give the company a failing grade."
Pretty ironic that HLN is running their ads in your show. CNN and HLN also run lots of ads for finallyfast.com, which is also a ripoff. Maybe CNN can turn down their ad dollars?

My only complaint is the ill conceived idea of using lame sound effects, bells and whistles and whatnot, on your show whenever you encounter a "Scam" or some similar type thing. It's very corny, amateurish and downright lame. Tone down the excitement meter as well. You're not coming off a professional as much as you are coming off as...well...dorky.

Also some of your features don't apply to me - for example going to a major league game is too expensive for my blood. Doing it the cheap way takes too much time and if I'm going to spend that much (in time or $) I`d rather pay to not be in the nose bleed; but to each his own :-)

I wish it were easier to figure out which program is new... my DVR taped it at 8, 12, and 4.

Is it really worth it to attend a baseball game if you have to park an hour away and then get there three hours before the game starts to get a one dollar ticket to sit in the nosebleed section? Who has time for that? It is much easier to stay home and watch it on TV or, better yet, attend a minor league game where the concessions are more affordable.

Any time you have to call a tech support line or your mtg. company 800 # or any credit card number to get something done about your account, you seem to get a foreigner that answers the phone. With mtg. companies and credit card companies, they are not going to help you or lower your apr.(they do not have the athority to do that), So next time, just politely ask to speak to an American and they will transfer you back to the US for the help line there. Please pass on this info.

Have watched the show several times, basic premis is great however lost all interest when the host was driving around town in his toyota. Being a WWII vet that turned me off completely. If the payola critics have convinced you the Big three can't produce a decent car well lotsa luck.

I watch your show every week with a pencil and paper. There is always SOMETHING to follow up on and possibly save a little money. I'm not a big fan of the TV Show, though it is fun to see Clark and the team face to face (screen to face?). I understand that TV is a completely different medium from radio but I feel like I get much more information from the radio show. I think it's the pace of the TV show and the editing that I don't like. I'm not saying that anything is wrong with the TV show, and I'm sure it opens up a much wider audience of people to learn from Clark who might prefer quick bites of information. I just prefer the radio format, I feel much more connected with Clark's full explanations on radio vs the edited content on the TV. I also get much better sense of who Clark is as a person from the radio content. Ditto for the team members. That connection makes the whole show much more enjoyable to me.

In a side note: I used to listen online at work as Clark is not broadcast in my area, but my company has banned all internet radio on company computers. I just couldn't go without my daily dose of Clark's wisdom so I broke one of Clark's rules and bought an IPod (expensive!) so I could listen in the car. Now my daily commute seems much quicker with Clark to keep me company. Thanks so much for your service to your fellow humans, Clark. You are truly a voice of sanity in a crazed world. The cost of that IPod was a small price to pay for the enjoyment and good advice it has given me. I wish you well in all your endeavors, but I hope that you never leave the radio.

Clark...just a word on the TV Show & the radio broadcast. Great to the Nth power. Wish we could get the radio broadcast longer in Wilmington, NC area as it never seems to be long enough with all the great advice you give. On the website it seems to be hard to get emails to you. This is the only place that I could find.

I tried to contact your radio show and i was unsuccessful. I also couldn't find an email address for you so i figured i would leave you a message here. I recently ordered a set of pills to help me with weight loss. from the company ACAI NUTRABURST. I ordered online for a FREE TRIAL and received it in a few days. After only taking 2 pills (one during the day one during the night) i felt extremely ill, so i immediately stopped taking it. Today i recieved another bottle of the pills, and also a bill for 74.94. When i called the company to dispute the charge and tell them i didn't want the product and that i wanted a refund.After being on hold for over an hour i was then able to speak to a customer service rep. The person that i spoke to Sarah (she refused to give last name) told me that there was nothing they would do. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she told me that i could not.

The radio show moves at a brisk pace and seems fresh even though it's broadcast in different timeslots, but the TV show is s-l-o-w and boring. Spice it up a bit with segments featuring someone other than Clark!

I saw your show recently regarding household goods movers. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), has a great website that enables the general public to research the back ground of moving companies. Moving companies with DOT numbers can be researched for complaints. If you have had or are having problems with a moving company with a DOT number you can lodge a complaint as well. Furthermore, you can find information and checklists that will educate the consumer on how to protect their move. The website is "www.protectyourmove.gov"! This is a resource us taxpayers pay for, use it.

We appreciate your show. In the segment aired over the 4th of July weekend on the Dollar Store, just be aware that many of the products only LOOK like the brand names, but are actually knock-offs packaged to look like the brand you seek. While there are many good deals, always be sure to check the package carefully to see if it's really the brand you are looking for.

I am a relatively new listener, having only found the show about 6 months ago. I love it and feel Clark's advice can be relied on because he's not a "pitchman" for any insurance, investment, or other business. I also want to respond to another commenter who pointed out that Clark's statements regarding TSP matching didn't apply to people working under the "old" CSRS civil service system, only the new FERS system. Since the old system has been closed to new employees for over 20 years, and many of the people working under CSRS are at, or very near, retirement, don't you think you were making a very picky point? A very small number of the $2 million active federal employees fall into the group that doesn't get the matching funds - even you don't fall into that category since you've already retired. Give the guy a break!

Buyer beware. Mr. Howard suggested a prepaid celluar service on T.V. and I went to that sight to purchase the plan but because I've tried and bought a cellular service online before, I knew to ask if there was service in my area and there was not with Straight Talk. Any cellular company is willing to cell you the service but it's not their responsibility to tell you if it will work in your area. You have to know to ask!!! I got caught up in a real mess with another service that would only work in my area if I stood in the middle of the street, not in my home and it was a nightmare getting out of that situation and sending that phone back. They denied responsibily for me not knowing or asking about working service in my area. He needs to clarify to people to make sure they ask about service in their area when buying a cellular service online!!!!!!!!!! Virgin Mobile is the best!!!!

An example of the good stuff...telling me how to pay my mortgage with my credit card so I can earn the 1.5% cash back. I am not talking about using a third party web site either that charges me 2% to pay my mortgage with my credit card. I am talking about getting Wells Fargo to accept my credit card payment for my mortgage. I have offered them several solutions yet they dont want to listen to me. CLARK this will not only benefit me but every one who has a mortgage and a cash back credit card. This is that intrest rate reduction that homeowners have been waiting for and they can do it themselves. Please address this issue. I have tried calling and email and I can't get through to you. Clark when it comes to your HLN show it seems like you are taking questions from people with the same old issues over and over. Please talk about atleast one advanced issue per episode.

I saw Clark's show at the airport. It is the perfect show for settings like that when you have 10 or 15 minutes to kill. Each show segment is separate from any other segment, so you can jump in and watch for 5 minutes and know exactly what is going on.

I catch your show from time to time on tv, however I get many more hours on the radio. I cannot watch you on the tv, I have to turn away and listen because your hand movement is very distracting to me. do you do the same while you are on the radio or did some expert tell you that you must do this while on tv?

Way too ofter the show resumes after a commercial break in the middle of a conversation. Today the show came back to, "and break and, ah, the dandruff stopped" Huh? The same happens when C;ark is clearly in the middle of a thought and the show is cut to commercial.

You just did a segment on stopping people from stealing images online by disabling right click.
1 This is annoying for people who right click links to open the links in another tab of their browser.
2 if you have a scroll wheel mouse you can get around the right clicking disability. I can hover over the image, push in on the scroll wheel and right click, let go of the scroll wheel and I then get the option to (save as) the image in question. A simple work around.
THere are many other ways around the disabled right click.
3 My spell check software in my browser shows a red line under any misspelled words I type. To correct the misspelled word I can right click on the word and it gives me its best guess or the correct spelling. When filling out forms on sites such as this if the right click is disabled it also disables my and many other peoples spell check program built into many browsers.

Please Please Please dont recommend this irritating setup for trying to protect images online. The best way is make the image so small that it will look like crap to print and I would use watermarking saying copyrighted by Mike the pHotographer for example. This is much nicer and much safer for the photographer than irritating their customer.
When I come upon a site that has right click disabled I immediately copy the site and post it elsewhere with the right click enabled. Is this wrong sure it is but It removes the irritating thing that does nothing to protect the site.

I know that you have mentioned that there are fewer people buying homes because they are maintining what they currently own. I just wanted to add that people should be careful who they hire to work on their homes and find someone that knows what they are doing. Otherwise they will not be saving any money because they will have to hire someone else to come in and fix what the first person did. Just because someone says they are in construction doesn't mean they KNOW construction.

Their was an advertisement on your show, Friday June 12th. Zapper ad that mentioned helping businesses build business credit. I called the company and they got back to me with an appointment later Friday afternoon. The sales tactics were hard core and wanted $2200.00 from me before I even had a chance to research the company. Thank God I didn't fall for th e hard tactics as I have seen alot on the internet about scams regarding this company. My real question is if their is a company that can help build business credit? People watch your show because they trust your judgement. How can you advertise US Fidelis, a company with an F rating with the BBB? Hundreds of complaints and gov't action?

I like 1) the multiple repeat showings on the same day 2) the shows are on weekends and not weekdays 3) Clark's boundless energy (standing up the whole show and he still smiles!) and 4)that you have an assistant and you give her credit.
As to the set's appearance, I would like a different background. Perhaps a full wall mural of the Atlanta skyline?

Love, Love Love your show and agree with you 99% of the time but occassionally I think you need to offer a bit more of a solution. You were on this week and a woman talked to you about her mother and trying to buy a house. I think you could have suggested she look at Senior subsdidized housing for her mother. She had a limited income but a bigger clue was she mentioned the woman was lonely, worried about safety and isolated. At an apartment for Seniors you could get the problems and needs addressed. Thank you for all you do.

I have to say, I am new to this site but I am looking at a message that you have and I am a little bit disturbed at how utterly irresponsible it was. I was reading a message that you left saying that Small Business owners who use Small Business credit cards should discontinue use of their cards and switch to a personal card. "So Clark has a very simple workaround for you: Just use a personal credit card for your business expenses. As a business owner using a personal card, you still come under the protection of the new credit card rules. "
This is literally the worst piece of business advice I have ever read. I am amazed that a man who appears as intelligent as you are and has the following that you do would publish such a simple comment. I understand the need to protect against the evils of credit but at the same time, should you not protect them from themselves? What I noticed was that you failed to explain to them that if an IRS audit occurs, these people will now have to go through their PERSONAL card statements and attempt to justify charges as business charges. Not only that, but a Small Business card, which is joint liability, normally offers some form of Employee Misuse Protection where, if an employee is given a card and that employee abuses the card, the owner of the account is not held liable.
So nevermind the horrors that come with being audited by the IRS and having to explain to them how Clark Howard told you it was a banner idea to place business charges on a personal card and now you have justify something that really looks like a personal charges as a business charge... nevermind the joint liability status that exists protecting the business owner from employee misuse... nevermind the fraud protections and tax write-offs that accompany a business credit card account... none of that matters and do you want to know why? Clark Howard made the decision to go on the air and post on the web a seriously irresponsible and broken down message convincing Small Business Owners to drop their business cards and rely on personal cards. I realize you are an entertainer, not a financial advisor but really, tell people both sides of the story before you decide to toss irresponsible information out there. Odds are some poor dumb shmuck who doesn't know the difference between business and personal has already made the mistake of listening to you and I guarantee, they are going to pay for it one way or another.

Someone told me that Clark said it would hurt your credit if the credit card company closes your account that it would hurt.
That goes against everything that they have said before by MSNBC, Yahoo Finance and even the credit card companies.

I really like your show, but I have a hard time with commercial breaks when the sponsor is Fidelis car warranty people trying to sell car extended warranties, especially when Congress is now investigating these scams, with Fidelis as No.1 on the list. It is just so ironic that you are telling people about scams, then we are subjected to a huge scam during the show.

I read that you can buy a $ 100.000 house for $ 60,000 at auction sell it for $100,000 and minus taxes you will get $ 30.000, a 50% profit in tree months, but this is a high risk high profit scenario ( and plus you have to have $ 60.000 to spare !.)

You can buy a $1 lottery ticket and every 3 days ( in Florida ) you may get ... lets say a one million dollars, a profit of 1.000.000 % ... This is in my eyes just a very low risk-very high return scenario.

I watch every single episode - love it. However, I use the Comcast DVR to record it and even with the recording set to only record new episodes, I still get duplicate and triplicate recording of the same episode on the DVR over a single weekend. I guess CNN has to set this up in the directory so the DVR service can distiguish that it has already recorded an episode ... thanks.

You had a caller today inquiring about financing for college. He was leary about a Parent student loan as through the colleges they are repayable by the parent immediately... not deferred until the student graduates. We bank with Wells Fargo and they have a Parent STudent Loan which is deferred until the student graduates (interest does accrue) but you have the option to pay the interest now instead of letting it accrue. I am still researching this but it sounds like a better option. I believe the student can assume the loan after two years of repayment. I am sure there are other banks out there with similar loan programs.

Hi Clark, love the show but I'm not sure why you continue to talk about prosper. They're, and have been, in a quiet period and are not allowing you to borrower or lend at this time. Please make sure you mention this because your radio show today did not mention this at all. People get the false impression they can use this site for a loan at this time.

I am a mortgage loan officer trying to advise my customers how to raise their credit scores. One way is the secured credit card. With a new $300 limit card and no balance, their score will rise 30 points per our local credit bureau. I cannot find a reasonably priced card. The fees are way too high. Is there a secured credit card that he can get with reasonable fees? With his present middle score of 607 he does not qualify for an FHA loan. If it exceeds 620, I can put he and his family into a modestly priced home he can afford. Please help.

I dont entirely agree with what you said yesterday on CNN about playing the lottery being a waste of money. Lottery dollars do much good in the cities and towns where people play. I believe people should support local efforts by funding lottery dollars, maybe $1 or 2$ dollars a week or month. Yes, to play more than $100 a month is a waste of money that could be making interest elsewhere but keeping it minimal harms no one and the money does some good where it is desperately needed. I personally dont play on a regular basis, but when I do I consider it a charitable donation.

An idea for the show - how about having some shows that just discuss a certain theme, i.e. owning and managing rental properties, funding retirement, asset allocation, different mutual fund types and advantages and disadvantages of each. I was watching your show about 2 weeks ago and a gentleman said he recv'd a call from credit agency about a Visa he never owned. I took your advice after for him. I rec'd a letter from a debt collector about an old credit card debt well over 4yrs old. I wrote to them and asked exactly where the came from and to remove it from my credit report because it was more than 4 yrs old. They repsoned and told me they would stop trying to collect the debt as it was old and would remove it from futher collection activity. Thanks

I feel that CarMax in Stockbridge sold me a lemon... I have been trying off and on for two/three years to get CarMax to take it back but to no avail!
On the 3rd day (after I accepted the vehicle) I spoke with a Rick Fuller (manager) about returning the car and he said and I quote "Let us see what we can do" and would not take the car back. I'm still trying to get them to help me with the vehicle. As we speak the car is down again and I just dropped $600.00 on a new ignition switch and it still needs approx. $2000.00 more on repairs. Clark, I am a creature of habit and the new show just didn't seem right to me for awhile....I'm used to driving in my car listening to you. Your voice calms me when I drive. I appreciate and respect your financial advice and try not to miss any of your shows. However, I was truly surprised to hear you endorce Wal-Mart during your broadcast today. Their business practices have contributed in large part to the decline of our nation's economy, particularly as it relates to manufacturing and employment. On the surface, shoppers may believe they're saving a few dollars or cents by shopping at Wal-Mart, but the overall effect on America and her citizenship has been detrimental. It isn't that I'm against "box" stores (although I do try to support my local small business merchants as much as possible); however, I can find the same, or better savings as offered by Wal-Mart at Costco, K-Mart, Target, and the various types of "Dollar" stores, without feeling guilty about contributing to a company that has conducted itself in unethical, ruthless, and in many instances, illegal business practices.

Clark, I love listening to you as I drive my 18 wheeler across our great country. But I have to say that you are dead wrong about the red light camaras. Sure, the Police could really rake in some serious dough with these devices. But, I feel they do reduce accidents and save lives. I see bad drivers everywhere I go from coast to coast. I do not agree that a slap on the wrist waiver fo offenders is the way to go either. If you break the law you need punished for the offense, period. And I am sorry to say, but sending people to a class to learn something they should have known in the first place does no good, because they will go out and do it again.
I think people need some real education BEFORE getting behind the wheel. It should be required that new drivers take a course before they get the license. Only problem with that, is most schools would guarantee that you WILL get your license and not focus on the importance of using turn signals, following at a safe distance, slowing down in school zones, construction sites, properly merging into traffic, NOT talking on the cell phone, putting on make-up, reading the paper, drinking and driving, I could go on and on about this.
Word of advice Mr. Howard, stick to saving us money, avoiding scams, and not getting ripped off, and leave the law enforcement to the professionals who deal with the bad driving habits I see everyday. I still love listening, and will continue listening on my Sirius radio. YOU are the only show on CNN worth listening to. However, I think you should go to FOX!

i am 69 yrs old and living on ss checks, i checked out the lawyer from the bar assoc., and bbb and found nothing wrong. so i went to them to do a modification and 4 mo later nothing wes done so i asked for my money back and they refusen {1,184.13}was the amt. i recently found out that they were not on the up and up. also alot of people in florida are being scamed by some of these attorneys. HELP PLEASE

I watch your show on a regular basis and have gotten some good advice when you have answered peoples questions. I need some advice if you can help me. I am married and last March 2008 I lost my job and got a part time job, I lost that and had to file for unemployment. We fell behind on our mortgage by 90 days and got a loan modification in December 2008 because we were going into foreclosure but the payments are more than they were before and we are risking of going into foreclosure again. We had gotten money from my mother in law to help us with the payments hoping we could refinace. We've gone to so many financial institutions, one being Wells Fargo and they said that because our Credit Score is under 600 that they can't help us. Clark, for you to say that these devices are installed for municipalities to generate monies…..is sooooooo wrong. I was on the way out to lunch w/my family and heard these comments and had to right how outlandish this is, when public safety and protecting people from serious traffic accidents or even possibly death. Your show is great! I like the rip off alerts. I find myself being interactive and answering the questions like if it was a game show question. I'm right, 100% of the time on your rip off alerts. I get emails all the time from places saying a family member in another county died and have millions in a bank and all they need is a account of mine to deposit the money into. I thought of telling them to buy a ticket with the money and come give me half in cash and they can keep the rest for there troubles.

Clark-Please continue to firmly support and communicate your view on these red light cameras. People are in favor of the cameras becasue they work. BUT keep in mind, that severing people's hands when they get caught stealing also works. The most effective prevention is not always the most American. There are costs for freedom. One cost is sometimes stopping short of the most effective prevention. Thanks.

I missed part of the segment this morning when you spoke with a police chief. Heard enough to learn you have a big problem with red light cameras. I can't understand my anyone, other than those drivers who believe red lights are not for them, have a problem with the cameras. Driving is not a right it is a privilege with no expectation of privacy. Maybe if you rode with police or medics called to the scene of accidents caused by these jerks you just might change your mind. The police chief is correct, they are there to change bad driving habits, not to make money. The county in which I live in Florida issues more than twice as many warnings as citations. Does that sound like an attempt to raise money? The sounds bites I hear about rear end collisions is also crap. If you keep the proper distance between your car and the one in front of you there is nothing to worry about. Please start driving safer and you won't need to worry about the cameras.

hey, don't change a thing about your show. You sqeeze more info with your format than any other show of this kind. You also cover things I knew at one time but had forgotten so nix the idea to only put things on you haven't covered on your radio show, just keep doing what your doing and Thanks for doing it.

I am a mortgage loan officer for a bank that sells to Fannie Mae. I listen to your advice (and share it with my customers). Recently on a show you talked about refinancing costs - I wanted to offer a clarification to you. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have imposed fees called loan level price adjustments on loans (both purchases and refinance). Basically as your credit score declines - the loan level price adjustment become more expensive. Especially when giving advice about refinancing - those loan leve priced adjustment can "kill" what seems like a good idea.

I really enjoy the radio show and I immediately programmed my TIVO to record your show. Unfortunately the technical people that feed your show information to the listing company do not make it clear that all the shows on a particular day are exactly the same. As a result I get multiple copies of the same show. Have your technical people fix this by providing an episode number or content specific title that distinguishes the shows as all the same.

please check into this as it is very damaging and several peoplel have reported them i found them listed on an FBI list of scams. they are located in utah and this is very very expensive

My husband and I have been arguing about the freeze on our credit for months. I tried to tell him the freeze on our credit is all we need to do, besides always looking at our bank accounts, etc. He was fighting me on paying those people you see advertising to give them our hard earned money, because you were to lazy to do it yourself. So low and behold here you are talking about it on your TV show. My husband conceded. Thank you. Also I work with a nonprofit that works with Seniors. They are living on a fixed income and a lot of them did not plan. I hope more seniors call in with their problems so I can learn from, unfortunately, their mistakes.

I love the show Clark; I have learned so much every Saturday that I am able to watch it. Thank you! My question is about about credit card finance charges. My husband and I paid off our credit card and we thought we were in the free and clear, then we got a $80 bill for finance charges. After that we got a late fee. I called and talked with a manger and they reduced the fee to the 80 dollars again; but I would like to call back because

Just now, there was discussion about a cell phone company charging first $68,000 then reducing it to $17,000 to download ONE movie. Apparently it was resolved, but I wonder why you didn't say the name of the company in your coverage. That's important information we all need. Is there some gentleman's agreement not to name names? 1. I would like to see your Sunday show broadcast after 2:00 p.m. so that I can view it after church. I now watch it on Saturdays.

I’ve heard you talk about how bad it is to buy a new car and we should always buy used. I disagree, besides taking a chance of buying a flooded vehicle, or a rented beater; you really can get a better deal on a new vehicle if you watch the rebates and are willing to take what ever is the best deal. When gas was $4.25 / gallon my son was thinking about a Pathfinder for $15,000. GM had $7000 to $11,000 rebates on pickup trucks. $11,000, off of a $40,000 truck, did not interest me. However a stripped pick up at $19,000 with a $7,000 dollar rebate and another $2,000 off from the dealer is a steal. I could have bought a brand new full size pick up with automatic transmission, satellite radio, CD, on-star, and ABS for under $10,000. We needed Air conditioning, so I found another one with air, locking differential, and HD suspension. Guess what I paid? $10,995. Now that gas is down, the rebate is at $1500 and the book value on the truck has gone up to $17,000 retail to $15,000 Wholesale. Now if I wanted to, I could trade it for an econo-car that I could not afford last fall. I’ve owned two used Corollas that cost me as much to maintain as a new car payment. I love this “new” truck. I took your advice and went to Esperian to get a free credit report. It turns out I was signed up for and charged from
CIC Triple Advantage for $14.95. I immediately called and cancelled. They said I had a month's free service.
I got NOTHING from them during this month. I saw nothing saying that I would be charged for this FREE CREDIT REPORT.

Clark I watched your show for first time Sunday on CNN and really loved it. Learned a lot. Your reactions to peoples problems are so real especially with scams.I also have problem of missing last segment of yur show.

I saw your segment on prescription drug. Did you know that if you use a drug card like mine where the co-pay is $10 for generic, while if you ask to pay cash at the store they will only charge you the $4 that most generics cost. This has saved me quite a bit of cash as I take several generic drugs. Hope this helps others. Don't use your drug card unless you have to.

Very good advice for people who have large credit card debt. Realized you have to act now; not later so interest rates on cards do not rise and your credit score is not affected.

I am a 30 year vet of the Diamond and Fine Jewelry business. Please, please tell your viewership to be extremely careful when doing this. Yes, the deals will probably be better financially, but the grading of the diamonds sold to the public are suspect. Pawn shop personnel usually are not strict graders of the stones and embellish their quality. Ask the owner of the shop if you can take the diamond to an independent grader/gemologist much like you would take a used car to your mechanic before purchase. If the Pawn owner declines stay away from the deal. You will suffer long term when you ever want to trade the diamond in on a larger stone. A GIA certificate on the diamond from the pawnshop will also be helpful but still take the stone to an independent for cert verification. Thank you.

Mr. Howard; Love your show and all the advice you give us. Would like to hear a little more about life insurance, you only mention term insurance but I am interested iin life insurance.. Can you talk a little about it.

Your show is basically a radio show for non blind people! Isn't one Larry King enough! Why don't you use the t.v. to show us exotic locations or gadgets that you are talking about on your radio show. Avoid taking calls, thats pretty dull for t.v.,I would like to see more expert guests.

It is so great to see someone standing up for the consumer. I haven't found anyone to help me with dispute with ComEd and now they want to charge me a deposit and turn off my electric when they owe me approximatly 6,000.00

Clark, love your show, however you recently made a blanket statement that ALL companies who represent people to deal with the IRS to reduce interst and penalties etc. were sham operations. I was disabled and still had one quarter of business taxes done which escalaed out of control over a few years. I did my homework and found a firm that was extremely professional, monthly payments vs. up front fees and was successful in getting the IRS off my back. The content is just as good and just as timely as your radio show. However, the TV show is apparently trying to look 'hip'; it uses the MTV-style jiggly camera work, and cuts to the level meters often. Maybe HLN thinks you're too boring, since you don't yell like Mr. Mad Money.

However, part of your appeal is that you are so straight-forward, sincere, and unassuming, which is why so many people are comnfortable revealing their huge financial mistakes to you. Any attempt to make the show sexy, exciting, or energetic is at odds with your otherwise-grassroots personality.

The only way to break up that same shot of you sitting at your mic, without giving the show a ridiculous/phony/lame feel, is to do on-location work at the furniture store that is out of business or the office space rented out by the fake fundraisers.

You often describe yourself as boring, and we like you that way!

Clark's style is relaxed, confident, pleasant, reassuring, sensitive and credible.

Every show has at least two topics of personal interest.

One show potentially addressed my own situation and Clarks' experience and effective, quick thinking and specific guidance and advice is likely to prove immensely beneficial to me.

I am spreading the word, never missing an episode and valuing Clark's selection of topics combined with his upbeat, impassioned, confidence-inspiring style.

It is my hope that Clark Howard gains rapid name recognition and popularity. I am more assuredly a convert and loyal fan.

Clark, I love the show, however at 1st, I didn't! Initially I was dissapointed because I only wanted news from CNN and my perception was that they were starting to do the same thing that MTV did by eliminating their main specialty and expanding into a bunch of shows that you may or may not like. I started watching you on HLN tv. I will not miss an episode. You came along just in time. There's two many rip off's especially now. Thank you.

You are giving bad advice on this subject that could cost your callers thousands.Until the new limit is permanant it is useless.
Example: You buy a 200,000 CD for 60 months from a small but shakey community bank. 2009 ends and congress doesn't extend new limit or make it permanant. On Jan. 1, 2010 you are now uninsured for 100,000. Bank fails you lose it.

You don't want to be uninsured so you cash out the CD with a penality of 3 months to a year of interest payments.

At 4% the penality would be between $2000 and $8000 depending of how many months they take.

The only way to safely invest in CD's is to pretend the new limit never happened. You can't bet your money on congress to do the right thing. It seems like every time they pass anything meaningful, they put a sunset on it.

I found this website to be a joke and no better than the other rip off credit report web sites. All I saw was money for this and money for that. Never did get my FICO score.

I love your show and think you give sound financial advice but you really fell with the advice to young parents. You actually suggested they use generic formula! And you never mentioned breastfeeding. A little evidenced based research would have shown that breastfeeding makes sound financial sense and will save parents thousands over their child's lifetime. Not only is there no cost to breastfeed (except for a good breast pump if mom is returning to work) but breastfed infants have less respiratory, gastrointestinal and allergy problems than formula fed infants. Over thier lifetime breastfed infants will have less cancers, heart desease and obesity. Their mouths and teeth form better leading to less need for orthodontia and dental intervention. Their IQs are higher and speech development more advanced. Human milk for human babies, it makes cents (and lots of dollars!)

I like watching your show. However, I've never seen the last 10 minutes because it is truncated by Comcast Local Edition in Arlington VA. If the content of Comcast Local Edition was even anywhere near good that might be statisfactory. But Comcast Local Edition content is AWFUL. Is there any chance you could get them to move your show to another time slot and let Comcast turncate some other program?

By the time the show airs I have already heard the same from an internet feed or podcasts. Podcasts are convenient and I can listen to several while working.
The TV show should be great for people without computers or on the internet.

I was appalled to hear you say that a way to save money after you have a baby is to buy generic formula! What??? Did you know that breastfeeding is basically FREE??? Plus breastfeeding saves healthcare costs because breastfed babies are healthier. Moms are healthier too. How in the world can you not mention breastfeeding your baby as a HUGE money saver?? I am floored. I think you need some education on this subject.

I really like your show, and I think that you are a genius. I need to know how to get an online university off of my back. They are trying to say that I owe them $1,600, and they are calling me every day to collect. A friend of mine told me that you had a way to take a persons' name off of a call list. I feel that I am being harrassed, and I know that I do not owe this university that much money. The university blocked me from my classes, and tried to tell me that I didn't give them all of the information that they needed. I did give them everything. I need help what should I do?
